FOOD DISTRIBUTION Starting April 1, every Wednesday 

Safe Haven in Charlevoix will have 8 locations where they will be handing out bags of groceries. The event will occur on Wednesdays at the following locations:

Lake Harbor Apartments 11:45 a.m.-noon • Bay Shore Mobile Home Park 12:15-1:15 p.m. (back of the park)

Little League Park (Norwood Road) 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. • Sherriff’s Department parking lot 12:20-12:45 p.m.

Pine Cove/May Street Apartments 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. • Charlevoix Estates Clubhouse 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Rainbow Shoppe parking lot 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. According to program director Jan Boss, Safe Haven has enough resources to continue this service for two more weeks.

April 27...11a-1p - Gaylord Intermediate School parking lot

Nazarene Church in Cheboygan The Lord's Kitchen 12p to 12:30p each weekday. Pull up notify number of  meals needed for hot sack lunches.


Alba community members to this Saturday's Alba Food Pantry at the Star Township Fire Hall. If you are in need of Bell Peppers, Cucumbers, Bread, Potatoes, Orange Juice, Vegetable Oil and More! We will be at the fire hall Saturday 9-Noon for pickup only. Please open your trunk or back door and stay in your vehicle for social distancing.

Jarvis Property Restoration in Petoskey is providing free personal vehicle disinfection for first responders, medical and essential workers 1-5 Friday, May 1st


Big Manistique Resort has been making masks and providing them to front line workers and families in need


Savannah of Nakina & Ko. Salon in Petoskey set up a free self-serve curbside pet pantry for those in need


Forward Corporation, a fifth generation, family run, Michigan company, has Subways throughout the Northeastern Michigan area.  Now through April 30, with the purchase of every Footlong for takeout, catering or delivery, Subway will provide a meal to Feeding America Food Bank.


Petoskey District Library is making face masks in their 3D printer for the Emmet County EMS


Sarah Newcomb in Traverse City started a Community Care Project that is collecting and creating care packages for workers on the front line


South Point Collision in Charleviox for collecting and donating supplies to benefit front line workers


Brian and Sharen Lange started a mask making group in Cheboygan and have eight other people helping them to make masks for front line workers


Shelby Goddard of Gaylord has been crocheting “ear savers” and donating them locally


Traverse City Sam’s Club for providing bags full of snacks for area first responders


4Front Credit Union has donated $50,000 to area hospitals and food banks

Roscommon County Transportation Authority has been offering free Grocery and RX pickup and delivery to porches for Roscommon residents


The Traverse Area District Library along with Image360 are making 3D printed face shields for front line workers


The Fairfield Inn of Gaylord and Hampton Inn of Gaylord are providing free sack lunches from 11-1p weekdays for school kids (1 per child per day)


Beards Brewery in Petoskey, working with Grand Traverse Distillery, to turn some of their beer into hand sanitizer and donating it to first responders and other local agencies

The Dutch Oven Bakery in Alanson is helping raise money for the Pellston Area Food Bank


Stacie Farmer from Rock Paper Scissors Designs  in Frankfort has made over 100 masks donating over half of them to Munson Healthcare

Petoskey Plastics - Petoskey Plastics received design approval for manufacturing hospital isolation gowns and will begin manufacturing 10,000 gowns per day at their Petoskey plant to supply McLaren Health Care hospitals across the state of Michigan. 


Iron Fish Distillery – Thompsonville – Working to create hand sanitizer to supply individuals and organizations working in Health, safety and critical services


Gypsy Vodka- Petoskey - producing hand sanitizer for our friends and heroes on the front line at McLaren Northern Michigan


Boyne Mountain Resort donated cases of sanitizing wipes and gloves to McLaren


Hagerty Insurance in Traverse City donated 1,200 N95 masks to Munson that they had in inventory from the previous bird flu outbreak


Frankfort hot dog shop FrankZ donated 6,000 gloves to regional hospitals – with 3,000 more on the way – 


Traverse City's Left Foot Charley donated 3,000 gloves. 


NMC's Nursing and Dental Assisting departments donated approximately 1,000 masks, plus gowns, goggles, and face shields.


Northern Building Supply dropped off masks, respirators and cartridges to Munson Medical Center


Make Victory Masks, a group of 3 ladies based in Northern Michigan is creating masks for those in need, as well as offering instructions and resources for others to help


Mike Autry with Appearance Unlimited – Traverse City - has been traveling around northern Michigan to buy supplies for health care workers at places like Munson.


Sue Laroy, retired nurse from The Brook of Cheboygan was kind enough to make 50 masks for the staff at the Brook Retirement Community


Bill and Carol's Westside Grocery in Petoskey is now offering free lunches for students in need of meals at the city's Winter Sports Park 11-1p during the week


Eric Hall a teacher from Cheboygan drove 94 miles round trip (4 hours on the road) to visit his students- socially distancing- with a sign saying “We Miss You” and was able to see 18 of his 23 students


Jennifer Honeysette from Traverse City helped out a 93 year-old gentleman who had been to several stores in search of toilet paper and hand soap, she not only gave him some from her car, but invited him to her home where she also gave him clorox wipes, keenex and more soap. He was so grateful as his wife was home sick recovering from surgery


Taylor Hecko who works for McLaren Home Health Care and Hospice took it upon herself to make masks for the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Dept.  Taylor is the wife of Deputy Michael Hecko who works for the department.


The Cub Scouts of Pack 187 have been busy making virtual cards for the residents of Pinecrest Village At Mackinaw who are isolated safely in their rooms for the time being.


The Traverse City Fire Department is driving by with birthday wishes for kids stuck at home (within the city limits)


Boyne Avenue Greenhouse in Boyne City is offering free flowers to all first responders, doctors and nurses


Skilled Manufacturing-Traverse City has stepped up to serve in the war against COVID-19. They began operations over the weekend to supply parts for much needed ventilators
